Athlon 64 FX-57 CPU Review


The FX-57 is the fastest of the AMD Athlon 64 single core processors. It includes a megabyte of level 2 cache and runs at a clock speed of 2.8 GHz. Like other Athlon 64 chips, it also has 64K of level 1 data cache and 64K of L1 instruction cache and an on-chip memory controller. The FX-57 is available for the Socket 939 and requires 104 watts of power when fully loaded.

Athlon 64 2800+ Socket 754 CPU Review


The AMD Athlon 64 2800+ Newcastle core processor includes a 512K level 2 cache, 128K of level 1 cache, and is clocked at 1.8 GHz. As is typical of the lower-clocked AMD CPU's, this one is highly overclockable. Considering that clock speed, along with its low price and largish L2 cache, this chip is a fine choice for the overclocker on a tight budget.

Review: AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core X2 4400+


The AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ is the cheapest Toledo core dual core 64 bit CPU. With an on-chip memory controller, two CPU cores, and over 2 megabyes of total cache on the chip, it's a high-end processor with excellent price/performance. It uses AMD's Socket 939 and should work in most existing 939 systems with just a BIOS update as it's pin compatible with other Socket 939 Athlon 64's.

Review: Socket 939 AMD Athlon 64 3000+


The Athlon 64 3000+ is the entry level AMD 64 CPU. With its on-chip memory controller and 512K of Level 2 cache, and running at 1.8 GHz, it provides ample performance at a budget price. As the AMD 64 processor with the lowest clock speed, it's quite overclockable as well, consuming only 67 watts at its native speed. In addition to its high 32-bit performance, it also runs 64-bit code.
