Foxconn NF4K8AC Socket 939 Motherboard Review

Overview:
The Foxconn NF4K8AC-RS-1.0 AMD Motherboard is an inexpensive ATX form factor board with four DDR400 memory slots, PCI Express x16, (2) PCI Express x1, and SATA RAID levels 0 and 1 onboard. It also has 5.1 channel audio, 100 Mbps ethernet, and four PCI slots. The NF4KAC supports the Athlon 64 FX, Athlon 64, and the excellent dual core Athlon X2 CPU's.

This board has nice overclockability for the budget price.

We've seen some pretty high results with our AMD Athlon 64 3000+. The specific chip used in this review, has hit 270MHz with the OEM cooler on another nForce4 board. We didn't get quite that high with the Foxconn NF4K8AC board but we did find a ceiling of 247MHz after bumping up the voltage more than a wee bit. Just to make a quick point, that is a rock solid stable 247MHz effectively making our Athlon 64 3000+ (1800MHz) operative at 2222MHz. Nice gains.
